The time has come (the walrus said) for an announcement:
For the next several weeks, I will be posting character sheets and pages from my comic book How to Make it Rain. Pages will be posted on Mondays and Thursdays. The project is complete (for the moment) so by mid August the entire comic will be available.
So yeah, I kind of wrote/drew a comic book. This was part of a giant project to study different storytelling mediums. The entire project consisted of:
1) coming up with a premise and basic plot
2) doing historical research and creating charts of character and background information
3) writing the story as a short(ish) story
4) adapting the story into a one-act play script
5) adapting the story into a comic book and character reference drawings (what I'll be posting here)
6) a meta-paper analyzing the way the different mediums affected how the story was told.
This is my first effort at a complete comic book, and it is adapted from a much longer story, and was very much an experiment. I may go back and color these later, but for the moment I'm glad to put it aside.
Anyway, this is a reference sheet for Jill, one of the four main characters. She is a teenage Which (no, that's not a typo) from modern America (and the girlfriend of my original character Jay, who you might remember: jesterbells.deviantart.com/gal…
